On the Road with Texas Highways, a Tribute to True Texas

True Griff

After 30 years of shaping the pages of this magazine with his signature creativity, Photo Editor J. Griffis Smith retired from Texas Highways this summer. But Griff didn’t leave before compiling the best of his work in an upcoming book, On the Road With Texas Highways, A Tribute to True Texas (Texas A&M University Press). The Sam Houston Memorial Museum in Huntsville will exhibit photos from the book Sep. 2-28, including a book-signing 3 p.m.–5 p.m. Sep. 20. Also, in his hometown of Caldwell, Griff will exhibit photos and sign books at the old Post Office 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Sep. 13 as part of the Kolache Festival.

Unable to make it to these events but still want to own the book? You’re in luck! Visit the Texas Highways gift shop and place your order today.
