504 - FACILITIES FOR FIELD OFFICE AND LABORATORY

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The types and number of structures will be shown on the plans.
2) Type E structures will be as described on the plans.
3) Type D asphalt mix control laboratory is required for all projects involving quantities of HMACP sufficient to require complete mixture testing and will meet the dimensional requirements shown on the plans.
4) Dimensions for the parking enclosure should be shown on the plans.

508 - CONSTRUCTING DETOURS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Limits and/or locations, grades and typical cross sections must be shown on the plans.
2) For the typical cross sections, show the depth of each material to be used on the detours.
3) The details of the pipe required for temporary drainage across the detour must be shown on the plans.
4) If the materials used in the detour will be reused in the roadway construction or stockpiled for future use, the salvaging and/or stockpiling will be paid for under the pertinent bid Items shown on the plans.
5) For Class 4 measurement, the embankment, flexible base and surfacing will be paid for under the pertinent bid Items shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When Flexible Base is required it will be in accordance with Item 247.
2) When Portland Cement Treated Materials (Road Mixed) is required, it will be in accordance with Item 275.
3) When Portland Cement Treated Base (Plant Mixed) is required, it will be in accordance with Item 276.
4) When Surface Treatments are required, they will be in accordance with Item 316.
5) When Limestone Rock Asphalt Pavement (Class A) is required, it will be in accordance with Item 330.
6) When Hot Mix-Cold Laid Asphaltic Concrete Pavement is required, it will be in accordance with Item 334.
7) When Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement is required, it will be in accordance with Item 340.
8) When Asphalt Stabilized Base (Plant Mix) is required, it will be in accordance with Item 345.

512 - PORTABLE CONCRETE TRAFFIC BARRIER

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Locations for placing and, if required, replacing the portable concrete traffic barrier must be shown on the plans.
2) If the portable concrete traffic barrier will be furnished by the Contractor, it will be constructed to the details shown on the plans.
3) The portable concrete traffic barrier furnished by the State will be at a storage site listed on the plans.
4) When the portable concrete traffic barrier is no longer required on the project and is not designated for permanent use, it will be stored at a site shown on the plans.
5) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheets are available for the design details and construction of precast concrete traffic barrier:

2) The Class of concrete will be shown on the plans.
3) The permanent concrete traffic barrier must be installed in accordance with the details shown on the plans.
4) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheets are available for the design details and construction of permanent concrete traffic barrier:

1) When structural excavation is required, it will be in accordance with Item 400.
2) When drilled shaft foundations are required, they will be in accordance with Item 416.

530 - DRIVEWAYS AND TURNOUTS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The type of driveways and/or turnouts will consist of a pavement surface consisting of concrete, asphaltic concrete pavement and/or surface treatment as specified on the plans.
2) Locations, typical sections, materials and details must be shown on the plans.
3) Type of reinforcement, if required, will be placed in position as shown on the plans.

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) When construction consists of concrete, it will be in accordance with Items 360 and 522.

531 - SIDEWALKS

2) Sidewalk details must be shown on the plans.

5) Thickness of the premolded or board joints must be shown on the plans.

538 - RIGHT OF WAY MARKERS

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Location and depth of markers must be shown on the plans.
2) The following Statewide Standard Details Sheet is available for the construction of right
of way markers:

3) The Department will furnish the bronze disks when they are specified on the plans.
4) When bids are requested for "Right of Way Markers (Install)", the markers will be furnished
to the Contractor from the sources shown on the plans.

540 - METAL BEAM GUARD FENCE

SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) Location and/or limits can be shown on the plans or can be as designated by the Engineer.
2) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design details and construction of metal beam guard fence:

4) The thickness of the rail element must be shown on the plans.
5) Specify on the plans if timber posts will be domed or beveled or if steel posts will be beveled or square.

3) Must include the following Statewide Standard Details Sheet for the design details and construction of chain link fence and gates:

3) Must include one of the following Statewide Standard Details Sheets for the design details and construction of barbed wire or woven wire fence:

5) All untreated wood posts or treated wood posts will be of the size and length shown on the plans.
6) All posts will be spaced at the intervals and set in a vertical position to the depth shown on the plans.
