As a consequence to the Department's violations to the Clean Water Act, in 2007, TxDOT committed to the EPA to improve environmental compliance performance at road construction sites across the state. As part of this effort, the Department developed a number of tools, training opportunities, management practices and compliance requirements for all affected TxDOT personnel, consultants, contractors, and other participants in TxDOT's road construction operations.
