President - Starr-Camargo Bridge Company

South Texas business leader Sam Vale is the president of the Starr-Camargo Bridge Company, a privately owned international bridge port of entry spanning the Rio Grande River and connecting Rio Grande City, Texas and Ciudad Camargo, Tamaulipas.

Vale is a founding board member of the Border Trade Alliance (BTA) and is the immediate past BTA chairman, having chaired the organization for a second time in 2012. Vale's first term as chairman was in 1999. He currently serves as chair of the public policy committee.

Established in 1986, the BTA is a tri-national organization advocating for public policy that advances secure trade and travel across the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders.

In addition to the international port of entry, Vale's business ventures include border region trucking and rail operations, and he serves in leadership in his region's workforce development efforts. He is also the founder and former president of KTLM-TV, the Telemundo television affiliate for south Texas.

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
