SH 114/121 Public Hearing Scheduled

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced the public hearing for SH 114/121 will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. at the Grapevine Convention Center located at 1209 South Main Street in Grapevine, with displays available for viewing at 6:30 p.m.

The 14.4-mile project will reconstruct and expand SH 114 from Business 114 (Northwest Highway) to International Parkway and SH 121 from SH 360 to FM 2499 as part of the DFW Connector. It will include the major interchanges of Interstate 635, Farm-to-Market Road 2499 and SH 360.

In addition to the federal environmental process, TxDOT is concurrently pursuing a public-private partnership to accelerate construction on the DFW Connector by allowing one contractor to both design and construct the project within a comprehensive development agreement. TxDOT is conducting a thorough evaluation of three private sector proposals. A recommendation will be presented to the TxDOT Commission at its February 26 meeting.

Maps and other drawings showing the proposed design on the DFW Connector will be displayed at the hearing. Public input into the project's design elements will be important during this time. All interested citizens will have the opportunity to offer verbal and written comments.

Persons interested in attending the hearing who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact TxDOT at (817) 370-6610. Since the hearing will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least 72 hours prior to the hearing. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.

Written comments may be submitted either in person or by mail to the TxDOT Fort Worth District Office, 2501 SW Loop 820, P.O. Box 6868, Fort Worth, Texas 76115. Comments must be received on or before Friday, March 6 in order to become part of the official hearing record.
