In the city of Livingston, the entire route BU 59-J was redesignated on the state highway system as BU 59-K, from US 59 southward to FM 1988, a distance of approximately 4.5 miles^a. Additionally, in and near the city of Corrigan, a segment of US 59 was redesignated on the state highway system as BU 59-J, from approximately 3.4 miles north of US 287 to approximately 3.0 miles south of US 287, a distance of approximately 5.9 miles^b.
