(Waller and Harris Counties)  Extended approximately 8.5 miles to Montgomery County Line. Section of approximately 6.0 miles transferred from FM  1098.

From US 290 east of Hempstead northeastward and eastward via Fields Store School and Magnolia to FM 149 and from another point on FM 149 eastward to US 75, 41.8 miles.  (Waller, Harris, and Montgomery Counties) Extended approximately 21.8 miles to US 75.

In and around the city of Magnolia, FM 1488 was designated on a new location on the state highway system from approximately 1.8 miles west of Magnolia, northward and eastward to the intersection of proposed SH 249, a distance of approximately 4.2 milesa. FM 1488 was also designated on the state highway system concurrently with proposed SH 249 from the intersection of proposed FM 1488 and proposed SH 249, southward to the intersection of existing FM 1488, a distance of approximately 0.9 milesb. Existing FM 1488 was redesignated as Business FM 1488-P on the state highway system from approximately 1.8 miles west of Magnolia northeastward to the intersection of proposed SH 249, a distance of approximately 3.4 milesc.
