From a point on US 84 northeast of Waco via Corsicana, Athens, and Tyler to Kilgore.  General redescription of Highway System.



Minute Order 065037, dated 06/30/1971; Adm. Cir. 078-1971, dated 08/01/1971

From US 84 northeast of Waco via Corsicana, Athens, Tyler, and Kilgore to IH 20.  Extended from terminus with US 259 along US 259 approx. 2.2 miles to IH 20.



Minute Order 083397, dated 07/25/1985; Adm. Ltr. 012-1985, dated 12/09/1985

From US 84 northeast of Waco via Corsicana, Athens, Tyler, Kilgore to US 80 in Longview. (McLennan, Hill, Navarro, Henderson, Smith and Gregg Counties)  New description; as req. by District, SH 31 extended from its present junction with IH 20 northward along the old location of US 259 to US 80 in Longview.

From County Road 5141 south of Corsicana east and northeastward approximately 13.0 miles to County Road SE 70. (Navarro County) The route was designated along a new location; the old alignment was redesignated as SH 31-D Business approximately 10.3 miles.

In and near the city of Mount Calm, a segment of SH 31 was redesignated on the state highway system as BS 31-K from approximately 0.3 mile southwest of FM 339 northeastward to approximately 0.5 mile northeast of FM 339, a total distance of approximately 0.8 mile. (Hill County) Redesignation (Partial Route)

Around the city of Hubbard, a segment of SH 31 was designated on a new location on the state highway system from approximately 2.0 miles west of the intersection of FM 936 and existing SH 31, northeastward to approximately 1.8 miles east of the intersection of SH 171 and existing SH 31, a total distance of approximately 5.9 milesa. Additionally, in and near the city of Hubbard, a segment of SH 31 was redesignated as BS 31-C from approximately 2.0 miles west of the intersection of FM 936 and existing SH 31, northeastward to approximately 1.8 miles east of the intersection of SH 171 and existing SH 31, a total distance of approximately 4.2 milesb.
