STATE HIGHWAY NO. 249
Minute Order 016701, dated 09/26/1939
From a point on SH 73 via the San Felipe townsite to the Brazos River. General redescription of Highway System.
Cancelled. Changed from SH 249 to San Felipe de Austin SS 99.
From the junction of FM 1774 and FM 149 via Tomball southeastward to IH 45 in Houston, total distance of approximately 26.2 miles. (Montgomery and Harris Counties) Mileage transferred and redesignated from FM 149.
No change to description. At District’s request, former location of SH 249, from near Hicks Rd southward to Holderrieth Rd, a distance of approximately 2.9 miles, redesignated BS 249-B.
Minute Order 114382 extended SH 249 on the state highway system from FM 1774 at FM 149 near the unincorporated community of Pinehurst in Montgomery County, northwestward to SH 105 near the unincorporated community of Stoneham, a distance of approximately 24.4 milesa. (Grimes, Montgomery Counties)
Minute Order 115785 amended Minute Order 114382 as follows:
Existing SH 249 (all lanes) was redesignated as FM 1774 from FM 149 southeastward to the intersection of new SH 249b. Existing SH 249 (frontage only) was redesignated as FM 1774 from the intersection of new SH 249 southeastward to the intersection of Woodtrace Boulevard, a total combined distance of approximately 1.6 miles for this and the above redesignated segmentsb.
The description of the extension of SH 249 under Minute Order 114382 was amended as follows:
SH 249 was extended from Woodtrace Boulevard northwestward to SH 105 near the unincorporated community of Stoneham, including only the main lanes from Woodtrace Boulevard to the intersection of FM 1774, and all lanes from FM 1774 to SH 105. However, the main lanes from Woodtrace Boulevard to FM 1774 were already designated as SH 249 prior to Minute Order 114382, and so this amended description does not actually alter the extension for Highway Designation File purposes.
(Grimes, Montgomery Counties)
