This is the minute order that designates the Interstate Highway System, of which SH 550 is a part.
From junction with US 80 at west city limits of Ft. Worth, thence eastward through Ft. Worth and Dallas to connection with US 67 and US 80 near east city limits of Dallas. (Tarrant and Dallas Counties) New Designation.
From a junction with SH 183, west of the City of Fort Worth, via a junction with US 80 at the west city limits of Fort Worth; thence eastward through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US near the east city limits of Dallas. (Tarrant and Dallas Counties) Revised to show change in point of beginning.
From White Settlement Rd, southward and eastward through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near east city limits of Dallas. (Tarrant and Dallas Counties) Extended northward to White Settlement Rd.
From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary's Creek through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near the east city limit of Dallas, with a connection to White Settlement Rd in White Settlement. (Tarrant and Dallas Counties) Extended westward to US 80.
From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary’s Creek, through Fort Worth and Dallas to a connection with US 67 and US 80 near the east city limits of Dallas, with a connection to the entrance of the Convair Assembly Plant. (Tarrant and Dallas Counties) Extended northward approximately 0.24 mile from White Settlement Rd to the entrance of the Convair Assembly Plant.
From US 80 in the vicinity of Mary's Creek, into Fort Worth to a connection with the Dallas/Fort Worth Turnpike, with a spur connection to the entrance of the Convair Assembly Plant. (Tarrant County) Section from connection with Dallas/Fort Worth Turnpike in Fort Worth, eastward to connection with US 67 and US 80 near east city limit of Dallas, removed from designated highway system.

From US 83 at Olmito, southeastward to FM 3248, a distance of approx. 6.595 miles; Mileage from
FM 3248 southeastward, southward, and westward to UR 1419 transferred to UR 511.
(Cameron County) (New Description)
At the district’s request, a segment of FM 511 is redesignated between US 77/US 83 and Old Port Isabel
Road as SH 550 and builds a new location of SH 550 from Old Port Isabel Road to the proposed Port of
Brownsville entrance, a distance of approximately 1.992 miles.
