Traffic to be switched on Loop 410 at Bandera FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, May 24, 2006 SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Austin Road and Bridge, Inc. have completed the paving of the center portion of Loop 410 between Bandera and Callaghan Roads. Crews will move the eastbound Loop 410 travel lanes from their present location toward the center of the interstate using the new paved center segment of the roadway. This traffic switch will temporarily detour traffic to allow crews to demolish and reconstruct the outside segment of eastbound Loop 410. As part of the work, the eastbound exit ramp to Callaghan Road will be closed and a new temporary exit ramp (closer to Callaghan) will be opened. The acceleration/deceleration lane will be maintained for the safety of motorists. In order to move traffic, crews will have alternating lane closures on Loop 410 eastbound main lanes from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Thursday night, May 25, and again on Tuesday night, May 30. On Thursday night, crews will detour traffic from the eastbound Bandera exit ramp to Evers Road. On Tuesday, May 30, crews will complete the traffic switch from Evers Road to Callaghan. No work is scheduled on the Memorial Day weekend. The $75 million project is anticipated to be complete by mid-2009. While some of the work continues at night, motorists can anticipate periodic lane closures during the day. TxDOT urges motorists to drive with caution while traveling through this work zone.
